掷弹兵进行曲 British Grenadiers

拿破仑时代是很流行的军歌，现在是白金汉宫前换岗仪式的必奏曲。
英国的这首著名军歌不是《马赛曲》那样“国家兴亡，匹夫有责”的爱国主义歌曲，但是体现了一种笑傲江湖式的洒脱。
歌词：

节选自《巴里·林登》（Barry Lyndon）
这虽然是电影，但它却是最真实的反映那个年代的影片。导演史丹尼·库布里克在拍摄《巴里·林登》中，努力试图营造一个真实的历史氛围。因此他只在真实的场景（而不是搭设的布景）上拍摄，而且只用自然光线和烛光拍摄，没有用一秒钟的人造光源。为了拍摄烛光，库布里克还特意选用了一个用在天象仪上的特殊镜头。

第一及第二段撷取的影片为；1975年作品的乱世儿女（Barry Lyndon）电影撷取片段。主角成为英国军人在作战时的背景音乐就是"英国掷弹兵行进曲"。
第三段撷取的影片为；电影决战时刻（The Patriot）的撷取片段。片中的英军步兵方阵就是在"英国掷弹兵行进曲"的乐声中攻击前进。
第四段开始到结束，是较具代表性的演唱版及交响乐演奏版的合辑，希望这种编辑能充分的表现出该曲应有的气势出来。
此曲据称源于一本17世纪的舞蹈书记载的名为“The New Bath”的曲子，也有人称其来自荷兰进行曲“De Jonge Prins van Friesland年轻的弗里斯兰王子”，因为这两首曲子的曲调很相似。这首曲子大约在荷兰摄政王威廉三世在位期间传到英国，今天“年轻的弗兰西斯王子”依旧作为荷兰军队的检阅进行曲。
这首曲子的最早军乐版本是1706年的“The Granadeer's March”，而第一个带有歌词的印刷版出现于1750年。这首曲子在18、19世纪大受英国军队欢迎，是英国步兵在行军及攻击发起时最常用的行军曲，当步兵方阵攻击前进伴以此乐来鼓舞士气。普鲁士军队曾经将其选为进行曲，美国革命时期曾被独立运动重新填词作为自己的歌曲。据说在市场花园行动中，来自英第一空降师的战士使用笛子和钢盔做的“鼓”演奏了这首曲子。
目前是英国皇家掷弹兵卫队军乐队常年性演奏的主要曲目之一。在一些欧美表现不列颠殖民时期的电影中总是作为红衫军的配乐出现，比如【爱国者】【加勒比海盗】。
